Day 78 - Pink Floyd

Gosto de clássicos incontornáveis (culpa do meu pai). É por isso que hoje vos trago os fantásticos Pink Floyd.

Embora tenham sido formados em 1965 – tal como os Doors – a banda conseguiu manter-se à tona do panorama musical até ao ano de 1996. Em 2014 anunciam ao mundo que, após 18 anos, irão editar um álbum que se espera memorável. Anunciam também que este será, definitivamente, o último.

Não sei se Pink Floyd é a vossa praia, mas é certamente a minha e tem presença garantida no meu TOP 3 [em breve virão coisas mais recentes, prometo]. Escolher apenas um álbum não seria uma tarefa fácil, por isso decidi trazer-vos quatro grandes álbuns:

1. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967): Considerado por muitos como o melhor primeiro álbum de sempre, é um exemplo claro da identidade dos Pink Floyd. Músicas como Astronomy Domine, Bike ou Scarecrow são exemplo disso.

Reconhecidos pelos criticos como “duas grandes obras-primas” aqui ficam os meus 2 álbuns de eleição da banda:

2. The Dark Side of the Moon (1973): Conhecidos pelas suas letras filosóficas, este é um album que retrata, entre outros temas, a doença mental e o envelhecimento. É um album inspirado num antigo elemento da banda (Syd Barrett) que foi obrigado a deixar a mesma devido à deterioração da sua saúde mental. Para além das músicas, letras e afins, este álbum tem (para mim) uma das melhores e mais bonitas capas que já vi.

3. Wish You Were Here (1975): Com apenas 5 temas, mais calmo e “sonoro”, este é um álbum que merece ser “degustado” e não apenas consumido.

4. The Wall (1979): Este álbum conta a história de Pink, uma personagem fictícia baseada em Roger Waters. É uma espécie de “ópera rock” e merece, também ele, ser ouvido com atenção. Foi, mais tarde, adaptado ao cinema.
